Potrero residence is one of the most unique houses along the Potrero Canyon. The client wished to create a Modern Spanish Colonial residence that would feature a private cozy courtyard for family gatherings and vast rear yard with infinity edge pool capitalizing on the dramatic views of the canyon and Pacific Ocean.
The first floor was designed with all rooms opening to the courtyard that features evergreen orange trees shading the seating area and main lounge with elegant fireplace. Office and guest bedroom that were designed to have separate entrances of the courtyard, are tucked behind the reclaimed wooden pergola covered with lush vines. Living room was designed as an open plan that seemingly blends into the kitchen and lounge area. With motorized pocket doors opening to the ready yard and spanning across the whole length, the room truly can blend the outdoor and indoor and provide spectacular views of the ocean.
The second floor features a screening room and reading area right of the main stairs. The open feeling of the first floor is echoed by the use of strategically placed windows and skylights that offer glimpses of land or sky while blocking the sign of adjacent houses. The master bedroom was designed to span across the whole length of the building to overlook the canyon. Both His and Her master bathrooms have showers with one-way glass to create an unparalleled experience with a breathtaking view of Pacific Ocean.
